"My passion for both art and science shapes my unique approach to design and construction consulting. I studied art history and biology in college, then taught high school science and loved it. However, I found myself yearning to reconnect with my creative side.
That opportunity came while living in Thailand, where I collaborated with skilled local artisans to design custom furniture and assisted with constructing a multi-purpose facility for our church. This project introduced me to the construction process and ignited a passion that would define my career.
Returning to Charleston, I honed my skills in home staging and space planning while building two semi-custom homes with my family. While these experiences presented challenges, they provided invaluable lessons about construction realities and reinforced my belief that homeowners need an experienced advocate in their corner—someone who understands both design and construction.
In 2014, I established By Design Consulting to bridge the gap between creative vision and practical execution. My diverse background gives me a unique perspective in the construction industry, and I feel honored each time homeowners trust me to help bring their dream homes to life. I pour my energy, experience, and design expertise into every project."
